Individual therapy is a time to explore your heart, mind, and soul. My approach is collaborative and anti-oppressive. I believe individuals are the expert of their lives, and my role is to facilitate a safer space to trust your voice; your ancestor's voice; and collective healing voice.

Fee: $150/ 50 minutes 

All group therapy sessions will have a maximum of six participants due to the sensitivity of the subject matter.


 

All Afro-Indigenous & Black Womyn without Fathers: 4 sessions weekly 

This group is for all Black womyn (Trans & Non-binary inclusive) who do not know their fathers. 

 

In this group, womyn will be given space to acknowledge their pain, grief, and/or trauma. As well, womxn will be given tools to name and affirm their experience by practicing self-compassion. 

Experiential outcomes:

  • Emotional awareness

  • Naming and affirming experiences

  • Practicing self-compassion

  • Re-narrating experiences

Reconnecting the Circle: 4 sessions weekly 

Afro-Indigenous & Black womyn meditation group

 

In the four weeks, we will explore various meditations with a focus on ancestral memory & collective care. In this group, womyn will learn four meditation exercises and space to process experiences of grief & trauma. 

Experiential outcomes:

  • Ancestral memory 

  • Connecting with ancestral memory 

  • Collective care

  • Re-narrating experiences 


 

Post-traumatic slave syndrome (all Black folks): 4 sessions weekly 

 

Post-traumatic slave syndrome is psychological impact of the slave trade, slavery, segeration, and hundreds of years of anti-black racism. Participants will learn the  4 major criteria for PTSS, and will process each criteria weekly through writing and art activities.  There will be space given to express participants' personal experiences in each criteria, and opportunity to reflect on their learning.  

 

Participants will learn how to identify how to identify the criteria of PTSS

 

Participants will be given tools to engage with the symptom/criteria differently

 

Drop in sessions are not available due the sensitivity of the subject matter.  Limited scholarships are available upon request. 

 

 

Ancestral memory community workshop for all Black folks

This is a 2 hour workshop introducing the concept of Afro-ancestral memory. Participants will learn the following:

 

  • What is ancestral memory?

  • How do we recognize ancestral memory in our lives?

  • Meditation exercises

The Shape of us: Ancestral Art Expression for Black Folks

In this workshop, we will explore ancestral wisdom through the expression of an art collage. Colour, shapes, and patterns can be a beautiful expression of what cannot be put in words.
